Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s love story is quite dramatic and full of fun-filled moments. After the filmy proposal, the two got married in 2009 and the romance between them is still as fresh as a flower. This is indeed a magical moment when Raj proposes to Shilpa in Paris with all his arrangements. But Shilpa took some time to say yes to Raj, which seems to be an insecure but valid reason.
An old video reminiscent of Shilpa’s romance with Shibani Dandekar on The Love Laugh Live Show reappears online. In this, Shilpa is talking about how Raj’s proposal surprised her. “I was in Paris for the Carl Lagerfeld show. Raj proposed to me by jumping down. They had booked a whole quad in Grand. A little OTT. These violinists were playing for him. They connected me with it. He said, ‘We’re having lunch at a friend’s place, so dress nicely.’ My sister told me to wear red so it was already planned. He told me from Mumbai that we were going to this really cool place but I had no clue. He had already asked my parents, ”Shilpa recalled.
After a fancy meal, Raj proposed to Shilpa. “It’s a five-carat diamond ring and I might think it’s a really physical one but I’m like, ‘It’s only five carats.’ I took a moment to say yes, because ‘it is me. No, no, I’m kidding, because I took more than two seconds to say, ‘The wedding ring is going to be big.’ But I decided that I would only go with the person who ends up, ”he said.
When Raj became director of the music video for Teri Yad, sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, he recreated the moment and grounded Shilpa as never before. “Major throwback. This picture was when you proposed to me 11 years ago. Remember you still booked a whole qu party at Le Grand Hotel Paris. When I enter with live musicians #LadyinRed, setting, Paris ️ ️ ..Aff !!
