Tata Motors, the country’s largest automaker, today launched its most affordable Micro SUV Tata Punch in the domestic market. So far, the car’s SUV has been dubbed ‘HBX’ in media reports, but now the company has introduced the punch. The company introduced the concept version of this SUV at the last Auto Expo, and it has been waiting for a long time.
Exterior and design:
Punch is the first SUV of Tata Motors to be built on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture). This SUV is developed under the Impact 2.0 design language. The company has given this SUV a compact sporty look that is very much loved by young people.
Tata Punch gives you the experience of a low-cost sports utility vehicle (SUV), as well as a Tata Harrier-like Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a wide bonnet. Its attractive alloy wheels enhance the side profile. Although this SUV is small in size, the large wheel arches help it move in all kinds of road conditions.
The interior and features look like:
However, the company has not yet shared any information about the interior of this SUV. But experts believe the company can offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a three-spoke flat bottom steering wheel, AC vents in square shape, a digital instrument cluster, a digital tachometer and an analog speedometer.
The company is believed to be offering a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 83bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. This engine is added to the 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The company can release it to the market through an automatic gearbox. This SUV comes with a naturally aspirated and turbo engine.
It is difficult to say anything about its price before its release, but it is reported that the company may be priced between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. In the market, this Micro SUV will compete mainly with the Maruti Ignis and Hyundai’s upcoming small SUV Casper.
