Uma Riyaz Khan was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, to Kamesh and Kamala Kamesh. Her father was a music director in the film industry, and her mother was a well-known actress. She completed her graduation from an undisclosed college. During her school days, Uma was a state-level athlete in the 100 meters and javelin throw. She was also a trained classical dancer but later switched to salsa and other Latin American dance forms.

Personal Life

Uma Riyaz Khan is married to the popular south Indian actor Riyaz Khan. The couple has two children, Shariq Hassan and Samshad Khan. Shariq has acted in a Tamil film named Pencil, and Samshad appeared in a children’s film called Suttapazhamum Sudathapazham. Uma Riyaz Khan started her acting career with the Tamil movie “Anbulla Rajinikanth” in 1984, in which she played the role of Siriya Pushpam. Later in 1992, she made her Hindi debut with the film “Muskurahat” where she played the role of Gopichand Verma’s daughter.
