The preparations of the State Election Commission for the three-tier panchayat elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh have become faster. The printing of ballot papers has also started in the Government Printing Press at Prayagraj. There will be a green ballot for the candidate for the post of Prime Minister, while the voter has to be stamped on the white ballot for the candidate for the post of Gram Panchayat member. In the same sequence, a blue ballot is printed for the candidate for the post of Kshetra Panchayat member and pink color for the post of Zilla Panchayat member.

In the voter list revision campaign started from October 1, the booth label officer is going door-to-door to check voters in every gram panchayat. Since the last Panchayat election held in the year 2015, the BLO is registering the names of youths who have completed 18 years of age as new voters in the family, along with those who have died in these five years or moved to another state. The names of voters are also being cut.
The e-BLO app has also been launched for these BLOs. On this app, the BLO will have all the information about the order directive received from the State Election Commission. Data has been sent to the State Election Commission about the mobile numbers of BLOs deployed in all districts. BLO will have to go to the play store of their mobile phone and take OTP to download this mobile app. The general public of rural areas can get information about their BLO by going to the State Election Commission website www.sec.nic.in from BLO search. There were a total of 11.7 million voters in the 2015 panchayat elections. This time it is expected that there will be around 13 crores.
