Secretariat fraud gang in Mahakumbh Rs 2727 crore scam too started investigation

The gang that collected crores from traders and contractors in the UP Secretariat as fake officers was also involved in the Rs 2727 crore scam in the tourism department two years ago. These accused had forged fake tenders for getting the contract for making documentaries for Kumbh Mela, supply of sheets, blankets and many other items. These contracts were cheated only in the name of award. This has come to the fore with the statements of two accused and a Rajasthan businessman jailed in animal husbandry and salt fraud. Investigation has also been started in this regard.

On June 13, an FIR was registered in the Animal Husbandry Department for grabbing nine crore 72 lakh rupees in the name of flour supply. In its investigation itself, a case of grabbing six crore rupees in the name of awarding the salt supply contract to the food supply department was revealed. An FIR was registered and ACP Swatantra Singh is investigating it. When the ACP took the nominee Ashish Rai on remand, there were several revelations in the interrogation. In this, the secret was revealed that in the name of getting many contracts for organizing the Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj in the year 2018, this gang operating in the secretariat also cheated. 12 accused including Ashish are currently in jail. They also have secretariat staff.

Fake officers were also made accused in this

The ACP Swatantra took Ashish Rai’s statement in jail and questioned the secretariat staff when shocking information was received. The accused, like animal husbandry and salt fraud, met the victims as fake officers. A person named Alok Mishra called himself MD and met other businessmen from Delhi. It had already come to light that a commission of Rs six crore was taken for awarding a contract worth Rs 444 crore to a Delhi-based businessman. 10 lakh rupees was charged for awarding a contract of Rs 2.5 crore to a woman’s company to make a document. If both of them found something wrong, they contacted the tourism department. It was then revealed that the tenders were fake.

FIR was lodged in Gomti Nagar police station
The FIR of this scam of the Tourism Department was written by the then MD Akshay Nagar in Gomtinagar police station in July 2018. Its deliberations are not yet complete. Many accused in this scam are still left. Now the investigation will start again after this new revelation. ACP Vibhutikhand Swatant Singh told that Sunil Gujar and two others of Rajasthan were called for questioning in this case but they have escaped.
